‘Chesapeake Shores’ Season 6: Everything to Know About the Show’s Final Season

Chesapeake Shores’ Season 6

Get your tissues ready, Chessies! Hallmark fans have laughed, cried, and loved  O`Briens for years, but after six seasons, the Chesapeake Shores are saying their final goodbyes.

Based on the novel of the same name by Sheryl Woods, the multi-generational television series premiered on Hallmark in August 2016 and follows powerful woman Abby O`Brien (Meghan Ory), a mother divorced from the twins, having moved from New York to her hometown in the Chesapeake Shores.

The romantic ups and downs of the close child drew fans in quickly after season 1, with Abby's love life at the heart of the series.

Back on her own playing field, Abby must confront people from her past, including Trace (Jesse Metcalfe), her high school sweetheart.

She is also reunited with her half-divided family, sisters Bree (Emilie Ullerup) and Jess (Laci J. Mailey), brothers Kevin (Brendan Penny) and Connor (Andrew Francis), and mother Megan (Barber Niven), and father Mick (Treat Williams).

In May 2021, Metcalfe surprised viewers by announcing that he would be leaving the show after five seasons. "I designed this role for myself," the actor exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2020, before his final round. “I mean, the show is based on a series of books where the character is an architect. So I have the freedom to completely change the character and make [him] become, like [me].

In his place are new lovers, including Robert Buckley, a friend in One Tree Hill. The actor plays Evan Kincaid, a self-made millionaire in the tech industry who made Abby shine almost instantly.

"Evan is a very enthusiastic, curious, excitable guy,'" Buckley told TV Insider about his character in July 2021. "There's Tony Stark to him, mostly for the sake of it.

While the fifth episode turns things into suspense about whether Abby will choose newcomer Evan or baker and old friend Jay (Greyston Holt), Chessies got a guaranteed answer in August 2022, when the sixth - and final - season begins.

"With a creative team and top cast, Chesapeake Shores has crafted stories that are easy to understand, profound, and unforgettable.

Laurie Ferneau, Senior Vice President of Programming, Series said in an official statement in July of Hallmark's decision to take the series, "We look forward to honoring the journey that viewers have taken. with O'Briens for a special final season."

The 10-episode finale won't be the last time fans see the O`Brien clan,  as the cast are great friends on the show. In fact, many stars have formed from relationships they have formed over the years.

“For six years, I had to play the daughter, sister, and brother of these wonderful lunatics. This is the longest job of my career,” Ullerup wrote to the same group via Instagram in July after filming ended. imaginary worlds and also in our personal lives. It's a great cushion to have a  second family to share the ups and downs with.

For his part, Series star Ory got emotional as he said goodbye to his Hallmark family. "Well, it's over on #chesapeakeshores after 6 seasons! I started this season with #hyperemesisgravidarum and finished with #covid - it was quite an exciting race!" She wrote via Instagram in July 2022. "Thank you so much to our amazing cast and crew for being so patient with me while I try not to vomit on anyone. "
